Questions, answered
The things people ask us most — about invitations, gifts, vendors and money. If yours isn't here, just write to us.
Getting started
It takes a birthday from idea to done: you build an invitation, send it as a link, watch the replies land, keep a gift list your guests can actually use, and book vendors — a magician, a venue, a cake — in the same place. No spreadsheet, no group chat that scrolls away.
Planning a party is free. Inviting guests is free. We earn from vendors when you book one through davetti, and that is always shown in the price before you confirm.
No — and that's deliberate. A guest gets a private link, opens it, and replies. No sign-up, no password, no app.
About five minutes. The wizard asks for the date, the place, who it's for and a theme, and you have a party page at the end of it. You can go back and change anything afterwards.
As many as you like, all from the same account. Siblings, cousins, a class party — they each get their own page and their own guest list.
Invitations & RSVPs
You get one link per guest. Send it however you already talk to that person — WhatsApp, SMS, email, or printed on a card with a QR code. davetti doesn't force everyone into one channel.
Almost always one of two things: the party is still a draft and hasn't been published, or the link was reissued and they have the old one. Publish the party, or resend the link from the guest list — a fresh one works immediately.
You see who has replied, and what they said, in your guest list. We don't track read receipts — an invitation isn't something to surveil.
Yes, any time while the party is open. They reopen the same link and change the answer, and your guest list updates.
Yes, and it's worth doing. The reply form can collect them, they show up next to each guest, and only you can see them.
Yes. davetti generates a printable card in your party's theme with the guest's own QR code on it, so a paper invitation still lands in the same digital guest list.
Gifts & group gifting
You add what the birthday child would like. Guests see the list, claim something, and it's marked as taken so nobody buys the same thing twice. The child doesn't see who claimed what unless you show them.
For the big present nobody wants to buy alone. Several guests chip in towards one item, everyone sees how close it is to the target, and the gift is arranged once it's funded.
Everyone gets their money back, automatically, to the card they paid with. We don't hold it, and we don't turn it into credit — an unfinished pool is simply unwound.
Amounts are never shown to other guests. You can also contribute anonymously, in which case the host sees a contribution but not your name.
To the address the host chooses — usually theirs. The guest buying it never has to know the host's home address unless the host shares it.
While the pool is still open, yes. Once it has completed and the gift is being arranged, it can't be unwound on its own — talk to the host, and to us if something has gone wrong.
Vendors & bookings
Independent local businesses — entertainers, venues, bakers, photographers — who list their services and their real availability on davetti. We check the listing; the service itself is theirs.
Vendors keep their calendar in davetti, so what you see is what they have. When you book, that slot is held for you straight away.
Yes, under the vendor's cancellation window — which is shown on the offering before you pay, not buried afterwards. Cancel inside it and you're refunded under those terms.
Tell us. Your payment is held until the booking is settled, so there is something to return. We'll help you reach the vendor, and we can withhold or refund the money where the evidence supports it.
Sign up as a vendor, add your services, your prices and the hours you actually work. Listings go live once we've checked them.
Payments & refunds
Payments run through a regulated payment provider, over an encrypted connection. Your full card number never reaches our servers, and we can't see it.
The usual cards, and the local methods our provider supports in your country. What's available is shown at checkout.
We start it as soon as the reason is settled. After that it's your bank's timing — usually a few working days, occasionally up to ten.
No. Every price you see includes tax where it applies, and any service fee is on the screen before you confirm. Nothing gets added between confirming and paying.
Yes, for anything you pay for. It's in your account, and we email it to you when the payment settles.
Account & privacy
With your phone number or email and a one-time code. There is no password to forget, and none for anyone to steal.
Yes — there's a one-click export in your account settings that gives you everything we hold in a machine-readable file.
From your account settings. It deletes your parties and your personal data. Invoices stay, because tax law requires us to keep them.
It belongs to the party, and it goes when the party goes. We never use it for marketing, never sell it, and never share it with advertisers.
Any time, from the cookie policy page or your account privacy settings. Withdrawing consent is exactly as easy as giving it.
